Our June 15th meeting will feature an exciting and unique presentation on the role music played during the Civil War, concentrating on how fifes and drums were used to lead the troops throughout those years. Our presenters, Jim Zelle and Jo Frohbieter-Mueller, will play many of the more popular tunes used during that era and Jo will demonstrate a variety of fife and fife-like instruments. Clay Stuckey will present at July's meeting on the "Trials and Tribulations of the Corpse of Abraham Lincoln." Clay Stuckey was graduated from Indiana University where his undergraduate major was history. In 1975 he was graduated from the IU School of Dentistry and practiced for thirty-five years in Bedford. Erin Boszer will present in November on the Life of William Tecumseh Sherman. He served as a General in the Union Army during the American Civil War, for which he received recognition for his outstanding command of military strategy as well as criticism for the harshness of the "scorched earth" policies that he implemented in conducting total war against the Confederate States. Sherman began his Civil War career serving in the First Battle of Bull Run and Kentucky in 1861.…
