Begun in 1957, the Southern Indiana Civil War Round Table (SICWRT) is dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of the U.S. Civil War and the stories of those affected by it. We stress good camaraderie, excellent speakers, and preservation of a history that still tells us much about our past and about ourselves. Click here<\/a> to learn about our group’s history.<\/p>\n

SICWRT meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Evansville Fraternal Order of Police lodge at 801 Court Street in downtown Evansville, Indiana.<\/p>\n

Although the SICWRT is not part of a national organization, we frequently stay in contact with surrounding roundtables to help coordinate speakers, events, and news of mutual interest. Our meetings occasionally feature raffles, book signings, and food.<\/p>\n

Our speakers are frequently nationally-known scholars and published authors in the field of Civil War history. Because we always draw very large crowds, we have become a nationally-recognized venue for the most noted and popular speakers in America. Members look forward to meeting and hearing the speakers, as well as enjoying the company of old and new friends, and that is the most delightful part of roundtable membership. We hope you will join us.<\/p>\n

Membership<\/h2>\n

The Southern Indiana Civil War Roundtable membership is open to anyone interested in learning more about the U.S. Civil War. Dues are $20.00 per person or $25.00 per family for a year and are due in January of each year. Although it is not necessary to be a mem\u00adber to attend, membership dues are used to help secure speakers and assist with special projects.<\/p>\n
